My parents bought me a record player for my 19th birthday and ever since then I've been slowly but surely building up my record collection.
There's a little bit of Johnny Cash, the sound track to Godspell, an insanely cool Sesame Street's greatest hits, including C is for Cookie, I Love Trash & Do The Pigeon...(Complete with fantastic pictures of Grover in a Saturday Night Fever disco outfit inside the folding cover.) Amazing.
Now my recent purchase being the Revenge vinyl set. (3Cheers For Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance...on vinyl.)

( fuckin' red record, hand gun stencil, sticker, lyric sheet= love)Firstly, there's was a wicked awesome sale going on at the online store that I couldn't NOT take advantage of...I bought some shirts that I'd been eye-ing for a bit. (no, not the Mikey Fuckin' Way one, I wanted to, but I had told myself I was only going to buy two, and "From The Wreckage We Rise" won out over it.)
I saw the vinyl and I could not pass it up. And then when it actually got here?
My god, it's beautiful. (Transparent red disk, whoa.)
It's beautiful and it sounds SO fuckin' amazing.
I'm not really a fan girling *squee* kinda girl. (Gabe Saporta being the exception.) But seriously, when I turned on this record it was only failed attempts not to talk ecstatically with lots of hand gestures from then on out.
Favorite purchase in quite a while.

ah yes, vinyl. i love how you collect it. i began collecting in jr high and i take care of those babies. vinyl is making a comeback so they will be cheaper too.

my sweetie says he owes me a great record for my birthday (which was in Feb,but we were struggling just to eat with the job being crazy). I have two halloween tale records narrated by the one and only Vincent Price and two by Heart : Heart, Dog and Butterfly. He has Godspell and The Cars.
*Record Player that is. I need my coffee.
